The 65th Blackburn St. Oswalds Brownies meet once a week at St. Oswalds Church Hall, Knuzden, Blackburn and attend Church Parade once a month for the family Service.

The unit is currently made up of 28 girls in 5 sixes, plus 4 regular leaders and 3 occasional holiday helpers.  Girls can join us from the age of 7 and move on to Guides between their 10th and 11th Birthday.

The Promise and Law

Brownies learn their Promise and the Brownie Guide Law before becoming enrolled.

The Promise is :-

I Promise that I will do my best,

To be true to myself and develop my beliefs,

To serve the Queen and my Community,

To help other people,

And to keep the Brownie Guide Law.

The Brownie Guide Law:-

A Brownie Guide thinks of others before herself and does a good turn everyday

Weekly Subs

Our weekly subs are currently £1.50.  The money is used to cover the cost of equipment for activities, craft items, badges and books.

Other outings and activities may require an additional payment.

Each year in February there is a membership fee payable to Girlguiding Uk which covers the units insurance policy, legal cover, training for leaders and the upkeep of Guiding activity centres.

All our leaders at the unit are volunteers and are not paid for running the unit!
